Native of South America. Same family as Mountain Paw Paw but hardier.
Landscape Value
Attractive spreading tree 4-6m in height with large oak-like leaves and golden drop shaped fruit. A great addition to your sub-tropical garden. Even in the winter it is dramatic in its deciduous form.
Nutritional Value
Similar to Mountain Paw Paw. Vitamin A and C, folate, calcium, phosphates, magnesium and iron. Also includes papin which give it tenderising properties.
How to Eat
Fresh, the orange fruit is sweet and musky with a zesty perfume. The skin is thin and edible.
Expected Yield
Will produce hundreds of small fruit.
