Casana

The purple-black scented flowers are followed by large quantities of 8cm x 4cm egg-shaped green-striped fruit, yellow when ripe and sweeter than a Tamarillo.

Habit - A very fast growing tree which starts to fruit within two years from seed and reaches peak production in 3 - 4 years. The leaves are large, hairy and deep green in colour. Ideal as a container plant because of the size, being frost tender and its short

Size - This evergreen tree grows rapidly to approximately 3m in height.

Pollination - The flowers are hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and are pollinated by insects, so it is self-fertile. This is improved with planting 2 or more plants.
