Naranjilla
Fragrant flowers (white on the upper side and purple on the under side) are borne in clusters. Fruit is medium in size and bright orange when ripe. The skin is covered in fine hairs that need to be rubbed off before eating. Some people may find the hairs iriating so gloves may be needed to harvest the fruit.
The pulp is green, very juicy and slightly acid resembling a cross between pineapple and strawberry.
Habit - Extremely attractive, bushy plant, short-lived (3-5 years). Spoil & protect these plants and you will see better results.
