Chilean Guava FAQ
Hello
I have one of your plant labels for
Cranberry Bergman with no reference of my own to identify
the plant I have in my garden.
I'm wondering how these
cranberry differ from the Chilean Guava which I believe is
the bush I now have growing in my garden.
Are these
the same plant?
Cranberry Bergman is a ground cover and is part of the same family as blueberries. This fruit is used to make the cranberry juice you can buy in the supermarket, full of antioxidants. You can not eat this fruit straight off the plant.
Chilean Guava is a small bush and is part of the same family as guava, feijoa and pohutukawa. The fruit on the Chilean guava you are able to eat straight off the bush, have a beautiful aroma and we call them little sherbet bombs.
Therefore two different plants. I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know.
