Peanuts are a unique annual, ideal for a container in a sunny position or as a low-growing plant in a garden bed. Bright yellow pea-shaped flowers appear in summer.

High in saturated fats and fibre. No cholesterol. Rich in protein, potassium, calcium, iron, vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc and copper. Eat fresh or roasted. Add to salads, baking and savoury dishes.

Best in full sun, sheltered position. Plant early summer (takes approximately 100 days to harvest). Keep moist (but try to keep foliage dry) plant in a well-draining soil or good quality container mix.
