    Pine nuts contain about 31 grams of protein per 100 grams of nuts, the highest of any nut or seed. They are a source of dietary fibre, carbohydrates and are high in monounsaturated fats. Pine nuts can be pressed to extract pine nut oil, which is valued for its mild, nutty flavour and its purported health benefits, such as appetite suppression and antioxidant action.

  • Growing Conditions

    Pine nuts can tolerate very hot summers and almost any condition, including salt and windy conditions. It will also grow in almost any soil type. Can be pruned, but prune to healthy clusters of needles (not bare wood).
